The desire to stand in a landscape and carry something of it back is as old as the human impulse to make art. Landscapes are the foundational endeavor that give us meaning. These paintings pursue the atmosphere of open terrain, the particular weight of a season, and the longing for a place that stays in the mind long after you've left it.
Influenced by Japanese woodblock prints and romantic alpinism, the impermanence and fluidity of the watercolor medium creates a lasting tension. Each body of work is rooted in a season, the palette and mood drawn from a specific time of year.

Dreary Mountain Watercolor No. 3 - Fine Art Print
Purchasing artworks comes with several decisions related to framing. Fine Art Prints are available in four configurations. Art Only, Matted, Framed + Float Mounted, or Framed + Matted.
Art Only arrives flat, ready for your framer or an existing frame you own. Matted arrives with an acid-free archival mat, cut to standard frame dimensions, frame-ready. Framed + Float Mounted uses a solid hardwood frame, custom-sized to the artwork, with UV-filtering plexiglass, the print will float within the frame, deckled edges visible, and no mat. Framed + Matted is the same frame and glass with a 1" acid-free mat for a more formal presentation.
UV plexiglass matters, blocking light wavelengths that will fade pigments and yellow paper over time. Most standard frames do not include this. Frames are custom-cut to the artwork and arrive wired or with a sawtooth hanger, ready to be hung.
