My name is Jonathon.  I am a landscape artist. 

 

Apocalyptic Nostalgia is a phrase I use to describe the human experience of change.  It’s our experience of longing and pain, fear and relief, despair and hope in the face of changing environments and our own lives. 

 

I have been inspired by artworks of early human cave painting, landscape frescos from antiquity, Japanese woodblock printmaking, as well as our contemporary exploration of the realities of climate change. I am inspired to continue the conversation of our human place in the world, both with each other and with our environment.
